The Visian ICL Lens:
A Phakic IOL for Myopia
Many patients with myopia (nearsightedness) lack sufficient corneal thickness to make WAVEfront Custom LASIK surgery appropriate, but there is another excellent option – a phakic lens implant called the Visian ICL.
The Visian ICL implant is an FDA approved procedure in which a special synthetic lens is implanted in the eye just behind the pupil, redirecting light rays so that they focus correctly on the retina. It does not replace the natural lens. Kremer surgeons have 10 years of extensive experience with this type of procedure, having implanted a similar lens under an FDA protocol with great success. Kremer continues to be at the forefront of this cutting edge technology.
Diagnosis: Average to high degrees of nearsightedness (Myopia)
Treatment: Visian ICL.
Location: The Visian ICL procedure is performed in King of Prussia, PA, outside Philadelphia.
